Make your Home Magical this Christmas

Christmas is my fav time of the year. It’s a time for Christmas Pink Shakes, cozy fires, presents under the tree and Christmas movies and songs on repeat! Making your home feel Christmasy and cozy just makes it that much more magical and with less than 10 days to go, its not too late to decorate! I have linked some of the decor I used, so you its easily for you to find. Let’s get Crimbo decorating!!

The Front Door

Every front door needs a Christmas wreath! Let the neighborhood know you’re ready for Christmas by finding a holiday wreath that is perfect for you!

The Living Room

This is typically the center of the action in our house, and is where all of our friends and family can come together to eat, drink and be merry. I decided to keep my living room decor simple and elegant with a few elegant Christmas touches.

Selecting pillows, throws, and decor that offer a variety of texture and pattern makes the room interesting and a place that they eye wants to follow across the room. Velvet, ribbed, nubby, woven, pom poms, shiny, fuzzy or furry, metallic, matte, bumpy, smooth, are all textures you can incorporate. It’s best if you have different textures next to each other, so they don’t try to compete with one another. I like to mix pattern by having one bolder pattern, a couple solids, and then a couple smaller patterns that have one predominate color.

I added this cute pom pom throw (my exact one is linked) to my sofa and hung two white pom pom Ugg stockings above the fire to keep the theme neutral throughout the room. I have linked similar cozy stockings here and here and here! In addition to this cozy throw, I also decided to add some pom pom pillows too! Different textures around the room will always help bring warmth and a cozy feeling.

This year, I added simple festive touches to my coffee table.  I got a copper bowl (another similar one linked here as well) and added pine smelling potpourri and some twinkling fairy lights. It’s inexpensive and looks really festive!

Another cool thing I added to our living room, was a musical Christmas snow globe. And can I just say, how magical are these??!! I could watch them all day long! I was really happy with this purchase – so cute! A similar one can be found here.

Finally, the star of the show! The Christmas Tree!! So you have to make sure you decorate it with pride and joy! I love hanging simple ornaments and keeping the color scheme neutral. Adding small toys/Christmas collectables also bring a festive touch to your tree! You can also add a simple tree skirto complete your Christmas tree look. Here is our tree in all her beauty.

The Dining Table

Everyone looks forward to the family Christmas meal! So it’s important the dining table looks festive and fit for a Queen! First things first, I added a table runner to add some light color. A runner adds sophistication and it also means you don’t have to cover the whole table! Similar ones linked here and here.

Next, as I am originally from London (now living in New York), my Christmas dining table couldn’t go without Christmas crackers! So why not add a touch of British tradition to your holiday season with these little fun additions! You can either stuff these Christmas poppers in your stockings or set them around the table to start your holiday dinners off with a bang! I have also linked my pineapple copper mugs here and regular copper mugs here!

Again, I suggest adding a few fairy lights to the table as they always add a magical touch to any of your rooms. These are the ones I have here! And if fairy lights aren’t your thing, Christmas smelling candles are always an easy way to bring warmth and cozy – ness to your home. And of course they smell yummy! I love love candles and have them in all of my rooms!!

Finally I couldn’t finish this post without linking traditional British Mince Pies! You have to get these! They are so delicious. Your friends and family wont be disappointed when you whip these babies out! ENJOY with a glass of wine!
